ANI Networks SSL3.0 SERVER

ANI Networks will be disabling SSL3.0 on our servers Friday, November 14, 2014 @ 3:00 AM Pacific Time which will leave TLS1.0 and TLS1.2 for secure connectivity.

There is a known vulnerability in SSL3.0 that could be exploited to intercept data that is supposed to be encrypted between computers and servers. (POODLE bug)

When users attempt to connect to ARK.ANINetworks.com, they must have at least TLS1.0 available to them, if they do not, they will be unable to get a secure connection to the ARK website to login.

User must update their settings if they do not have at least TLS1.0 available to them for their browser. TLS1.2 is backward compatible to TLS1.0 so selecting that only will allow the user to connect to ARK.ANINetworks com also.

Browser settings only need to be changed if the user is unable to connect to ARK.ANINetworks.com after we have updated the server.
The settings for Internet Explorer and Chrome are shared. A change in either browser affects both browsers.

SSL instructions for Internet Explorer
1. Open Internet Explorer and choose tools or hit Alt+X and then "Internet Options"
2. Under Internet Options, choose the advanced tab.
3. Scroll down to "Security" settings and add a check in the "Use TLS 1.2" version.
4. Choose apply and then ok.
5. Restart your browser and continue to the website.

Instructions for Chrome
1. Open Chrome browser
2. Select "Settings" and click on the "Show Advanced settings…" at the bottom of the page.
3. Find the Network section and click on "Change Proxy Settings"
4. When the Internet options window open, select the advanced tab.
5. Scroll down to "Security" settings and add a check in the "Use TLS 1.2" version.
6. Choose apply and then ok.
7. Restart your browser and continue on to the website.

Instructions for Firefox
Firefox by default allows TLS minimum version 0 and up to TLS version 3. You should only have to make changes if the default for the browser has been changed.
In your Firefox browser:
1. In the URL field type about:config and press Enter on your keyboard.
You will get a warning message: "This might void your warranty!".
2. Click the button [I'll be careful, I promise!].
3. In the search field type security.tls.version.max This should perform an automatic search with the results on the main screen bleow.
4. Double click on the line security.tls.version.max in the results (main screen). This will bring up a dialog box security.tls.version.max.
5. Change the value to 3 and click [OK]
The Value column on the security.tls.version.max line will now read "3".
This changes the security to use up to TLS1.2.
6. Close the about:config tab
